Notes |
English: Commissioned by King George VI, when Duke of York (1); so this work is in the public domain because the Crown copyright has expired in 1984. Also see this page from Mid-Week Pictorial (1914-1937), an American weekly of news pictures, containing a photographic print of the painting labelled with the date 1933,(2) showing that it was published in the United States in 1933. Since the original painting is itself dated 1933, simultaneous publication in the US within 30 days is likely. Didn't find in copyright renewal records. |
